DEAR MUSHROOM HEADS, I couldn't let this day pass without marking it in some way. Here are some comic diary pages for you.

If you have the stomach to read the article about technocrats in its entirety, here's the link. I have had misgivings about the New York Times lately—and even this article, which was reported by at least four people, seemed oddly truncated and buried, like something we weren't meant to find. Instead of putting this on the cover of the magazine, the Times went with a story about cheerleading. I have found the election coverage in the Times and the Washington Post perplexing, to say the least, but some news, however occluded, is better than no news.

And speaking of the election...

We have about a bajillion judges to vote on in Illinois. I've never spent this much time researching the down-ballot candidates in any other election in my life. I'm grateful to Girl, I Guess and Injustice Watch without which I'd be completely at a loss.

What are you all doing to get through the day (or week)? Are you baking bumpy cake? Or planting bulbs? Watching livestream of cute animals? I would love to hear.

Whatever happens, I'm so glad I have you in my corner.

In solidarity,

Claire
