WE WENT FOR a New Year’s Day walk on the Bloomingdale Trail, a raised walkway built on a former railway track that runs through Chicago’s Wicker Park neighborhood. I’d never been on the trail before and it’s quite lovely.

We were chilly and struggled against the wind on the way back but after a week of eating and drinking too much and watching too many movies I secretly welcomed the discomfort. The cold air was the wake up call I needed.

Time to get back to work.

More news next week.

Love,

Claire
